A Custom Equipment Cabinet
A commission came to us from a local motorcycle distributor for a cabinet, with certain design needs. They needed a cabinet to house their audio equipment as a mobile showcase, extremely compact, rugged and holding both the players, amplifiers and 4 speakers and in the basic colours of both the manufacturer and the local distributorship. This commission came with some pride, since we now both suppliers and customers of the dealership.
The unit needed to be weather resistant, since almost every weekend during the motorcycle riding season the dealership sponsors an outdoor event, rain or shine.
The cabinet has a normal case built with B.C. Fir, with pull-out shelves, clamshell doors to house the speakers and front-mounted speaker grills. Naturally it has large casters so it can be moved as required.
This cabinet is not on display like the other works of art on the showroom floor, but it is signed by the builder, nevertheless.
